Dear artist, dear art worker,
As you might know, the federal government launched the participatory trajectory Working in the Arts, around the reform of social protection in the cultural sector.
Next to public debates and an elaborated web platform, a technical working group consisting of various advocacy groups for artists and art workers, among others State of the Arts, gathered and discussed in the course of the last 6 weeks, artist Katleen Vermeir and art worker Ingrid Vranken courageusement defended the hybrid and complex social economic reality many of us live in.
As a result of these working sessions, a draft note is drawn by the ministries, based on different inputs from the technical working group. On the 17th of June, important decisions need to be taken and a consensus signature is sought from the various involved organizations in the working group around this proposal. In a next step, this proposal will be discussed by the unions, RVA, the government and the parliament.
We have been given one week to take this draft note back to our peers and discuss it with you.
We therefore invite you to join us onSATURDAY 12/06 from 10 – 12h30 for an online feedback session.
Agenda: – introduction of the proposal by Katleen Vermeir
– open the discussion draft note and a few of its crucial points
Please let us know if you want to join:

This is the moment to let your voice be heard!
Our best wishes, in the name of SOTA
