Are you an emerging artist navigating the complexities of launching your career in the arts? Do you feel the need for guidance, support and a sense of community as you embark on this journey? A network, grants, fair opportunities, cheap workspaces, artist status: how do you do it?
Are you an experienced artist who has skills and expertise in navigating the Brussels art fields? Do you have knowledge, advice, strategies you developed through your years of working as an artist that you feel you could share with other artists at the beginning of their careers?
What?
Through the open call Pairing is Caring, The Gap Group Brussels and State of the Arts are pairing emerging artists with a more experienced artist or cultural worker to exchange knowledge as you build your career. This support person can help you with your individual questions concerning new contacts, subsidies, remuneration, spaces, next steps in your career, …
Together you will decide how and under what conditions this exchange will take place. During the matching day you will meet all possible ‘companions’ for a short interview, after which you will be linked to one of them.
For whom?
This call focuses on the disciplines of theatre, performance, visual arts, media arts and multidisciplinary practices.
